Merino wool is one of the world's exclusive wool varieties and comes from one of the most outstanding sheep breeding regions in the world: Patagonia.

Fair fashion with consideration for animals and the environment.

The pasturelands of Patagonia consist of extensive steppes that reach up to the slopes of the Andes. In this wild and uninhabited landscape, herds of Merino sheep graze freely and undisturbed. As a result, they are regarded for their fiber, which is considered to be one of the finest and noblest in the world. Out of love for animals, our merino wool is mulesing-free wool.

Soft – breathable – dirt-repellent
Merino wool

Merino wool is ecological: Because it consists of 100% natural fibers, it is 100% ecological and is biodegradable due to its natural origin. This fiber is characterized by its softness and at the same time its warmth. Thanks to its insulating properties, it keeps you warm in winter, is comfortable to wear on hot days and is odorless throughout the days. Finally, due to its unique fiber structure, Merino wool has self-cleaning properties, making frequent washing unnecessary.

To create the line of Dalma and Delicia blankets and Nicol scarf made of merino wool , TASHAY cooperates with a community of artisans and small businesses from Argentina. Together with these companies, we select the finest fibers that are carefully spun by hand. The yarn is finally woven by hand and there are different textures included in these design products.

Sustainability, animal welfare and responsibility: Our highlights are our Swan and Beanie Troff sweaters from certified Wildlife Friendly producers on the Península Valdés in Patagonia, Argentina, which are then hand-woven and finished by craftsmen in family businesses.

Land use on the Valdés Peninsula was based primarily on sheep farming. The Península Valdés is a 4,000 square kilometer protected area in Patagonia that was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. Ranchers there are committed to coexistence between sheep farming for wool production and healthy wild animal populations. This means that responsible standards are set that take into account the sustainable use of grasslands in coexistence with native herbivores.

The certified Wildlife Friendly™ wool is therefore fully traceable and processed according to responsible standards and certified protocols.
